Chemistry of the StarsStars?Of course the word "Stars" has another meaning here on Earth. We read about celebrities every day in the papers, we see the latest stars of Big Brother on the Television. These people are also "Stars" - superstars. Chemistry is important to this kind of star as well. For example, David Beckham once had bleached blond tips to his hair. That was done using a Chemical called Hydrogen Peroxide which is also find in the new Oxygen bleaches (Oxy Action products) that have recently come on to the market.
The molecular structure of Hydrogen Peroxide Another great example is lipstick. Think of all the different lipstick colours you can get. In fact, there are only three dyes you can use legally to make lipstick. It's up to Chemists to work out ways of using just these three dyes to make all the different lipstick colours
